The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) was established in 1994 as an autonomous institution of the University Grants Commission (UGC). The mandate of NAAC as reflected in its vision statement is in making quality assurance an integral part of the functioning of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Seven criteria have been chosen by NAAC to provide the framework for its evaluation processes. These seven criteria are curricular aspects, teaching-learning and evaluation, research, consultancy, and extension, infrastructure and learning resources, student support and progression, governance, leadership and management, innovations and best practices.
The institute has been successful in obtaining the highest possible NAAC - A++ Grade with 3.67 institutional CGPA on 4 point scale. SKIT is now among the top institutions of India and the only affiliated technical institute in Rajasthan state to have earned an A++ grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
