After completion of this course, students will be able to:

C5EE3-01.1Learn about the concepts of Bonding and types of solids, Crystalline state and their defects, Classical theory of electrical and thermal conduction in solids, temperature dependence of resistivity, skin effect, Hall effect.                                   

C5EE3-01.2Acquire knowledge of Dielectric Properties of Insulators in Static and Alternating field, Properties of Ferro-Electric materials, Polarization, Piezoelectricity, Frequency dependence of Electronic and Ionic Polarizability, Complex dielectric constant of non-dipolar solids, dielectric losses.
