Q1:      By which body is SKIT approved?

A1:      SKIT is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and Department of Technical Education,  Government of Rajasthan, Jaipur.

Q2:      To which university is SKIT affiliated?

A2:      SKIT is affiliated to Rajasthan Technical University (RTU), Kota established by the Government of Rajasthan. RTU conducts the examination and awards the degree.

Q3:      Which rank does SKIT hold amongst all the affiliated colleges under RTU, Kota?

A3:      SKIT holds First Rank (1^st Rank in Engineering Programme) in Rajasthan amongst all RTU affiliated colleges for the last 6 consecutive years (2017-18, 2018-19, 2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22 and 2022-23).

Q4:      Are engineering programmes of SKIT accredited by NBA?

A4:      Yes, the engineering branches of SKIT are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi and also by the Institution of Engineers (IE), Kolkata.

Q5:      Is SKIT accredited by NAAC? 

A5:      Yes, the SKIT institute is the only affiliated technical institute in Rajasthan to have eared an A++ grade by NAAC in first cycle.

Q6:      What are the programmes being offered at SKIT?

A6:      The Institute offers regular Under Graduate (B.Tech.) & Post Graduate (M.Tech.) programmes in engineering, and Post Graduate (MBA) programme in management disciplines. The duration of UG programme is 4 years and PG programme is 2 years.

Q8:      Is SKIT recognized by RTU, Kota to offer Ph.D in Engineering Programme and Master of Business Administration (MBA)?

A8:      Yes, some of the engineering departments viz.  Electrical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering departments are recognized as a research centre by RTU, Kota to offer full/ part time Ph.D Programmes also SKIT has MBA programme.

A9:      The medium of instruction is English.

Q10:      Is college uniform compulsory for students at SKIT? What is fee for uniform?

A10:      Yes, the college uniform is compulsory to maintain a culture of unity and parity among the students. The cost of the uniform which include 7 items is Rs. 5040/- (including 12% GST) for two shirts, two trousers, one blazer, one half sleeve pullover, one tie, one belt, socks (two pairs). Black leather shoes with laces must be purchased from college counter/outside shops. The cost of shoes is Rs. 560/- (including 12% GST) at college counter.

FAQs for Admission to B.Tech. Programme 

Q1:      What is the eligibility criterion for admission in B.Tech. programme?

A1:     Eligibility criterion for admission in first year of B.E. / B.Tech. is:

Passed 10+2 examination with combination of subjects  from Physics/ Mathematics / Chemistry/Computer Science/ Electronics/ Information Technology/ Biology/Informatics Practices/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject^# / Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/Entrepreneurship, Agriculture stream (for Agriculture Engineering).

Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category*) in the above subjects taken together.

OR

Passed D.Voc. Stream(NCrF level 4) in the same or allied sector.

Q3:      Is the candidate with class-12 from NIOS Board eligible for admission in B.Tech. programme?

A3:      Yes, the candidate with class-12 from NIOS Board is eligible for admission in B.Tech. programme.

Q4:      Is the candidate who has compartment in any subject in class-12/DVoc eligible?

A4:      No, the candidate must have passed all the subjects (without compartment) in class-12/ Diploma before the last date of filling of application form/ Management quota.

Q5:      What is the seat matrix under Self Financing Scheme (SFS) category for admission in B.Tech. programme at SKIT?

A5:      The division of approved intake for B.Tech. programme (Tentative) is as follows:

Q6:    Is there any provision of supernumerary seats (other than approved intake) for admission in B.Tech. programme?

A6:     Yes, the following schemes are available for admission in B. Tech. 1^st year course:

6.1 TFWS Seats:  5% additional seats are reserved for the candidates belonging to the economically backward class of Rajasthan State with a family income lesser than or equal to Rs. 8 Lacs p.a. from all sources. Candidates should select the appropriate option to indicate income while filling application form. These seats will be allotted to the candidates on the basis of merit. An income proof is required at the time of admission.

6.2 KM Seats: 5% seats in each branch are reserved for the candidates whose parents have migrated from Jammu & Kashmir State. A certificate to this effect by the competent authority is required at the time of admission.

6.4 PMSSS Seats: Additionally, a total of 20 seats in different branches are reserved for candidates belonging to Union Territories (UTs) of J&K and Ladakh who have passed 12th exam from J&K/ CBSE board affiliated schools located in J&K and Ladakh. The family income of the candidate should be less than or equal to Rs. 8 Lacs p.a. from all the sources for applying under PMSSS category. The application and allotment process for the admission under this category is governed by AICTE, New Delhi which can be located at https://www.aicte-jk-scholarship-gov.in/. AICTE provides scholarship to meet the expenditure towards Academic Fees (other than non refundable fees) and Maintenance Allowances to the candidates admitted under this category.

Q13:    Is there a provision of management quota for admission in B.Tech. programme at SKIT?

A13:    Yes, 15% seats of approved intake in each branch are reserved for all candidates. They have to apply in person for admission in B.Tech. programme under management quota at SKIT Campus, Jaipur only.

Q19:    What is the college fee for B.Tech. programme?

A19:    The fee for SFS, EWS & KM categories approved by the State Level Fee Determination Committee (appointed by Govt. of Rajasthan) and/or Competent Authority is as follows.

* In addition to the above mentioned fee, the affiliating university (RTU, Kota) also charges the examination fee (per semester), enrollment fee (one time) and development fee (one time) etc. separately. The same is collected by the institute and transferred to the university.

*The above course fees may be revised by the Govt. of Rajasthan/Competent Authority. This stands applicable for the students admitted in the academic session 2024-25.

*In case of allotment in TFWS category, the tuition fee is exempted.  

Q20:    What is the boys/girls hostel fee?

A20:    SKIT provides air cooled hostel facility for boys & girls separately. The Nirwana Boys Hostel has single occupancy & Noran Girls Hostel has double occupancy in the Institute premises. The hostel charges including lodging & boarding are given below:

A21:    Yes, a fleet of 14 buses provides pick-up and drop facility to the students from various points covering almost all areas in Jaipur city and offers to ensure a hassle-free and safe transportation. Q22:    What is the mode of fee payment available at SKIT?

A22:    Candidates can deposit their fees through one of following modes:

22.1 Online: Fee Payment Portal https://erp.skit.ac.in/payments

22.2 Offline: Cash/ Demand Draft in favour of ‘SKIT Jaipur’ at Institute premises.

A23:    Yes, students can avail education loan from any Indian bank through Vidya Lakshmi portal https://www.vidyalakshmi.co.in/Students. Students can apply online and track the status of their application by accessing the portal.

Q24:    Is there another admission office/branch of SKIT in other cities?                                 

A24:    No, we do not have any admission office/branch anywhere in the country.

Q25:    What are the timings of admission cell at SKIT?

A25:    The admission cell at SKIT is open from Monday to Saturday from 8 AM to 5 PM. The timings on Sunday are 10.00 AM to 5:00 PM.
